The BBI bioinformatics team is hosting a Monocle 3 tutorial/training to help you navigate your single-cell RNA-seq data. This tutorial is aimed at assisting you with questions and concerns regarding single-cell data analysis using Monocle 3. Although we encourage anyone interested to attend, this__ particular session is mainly for researchers that have little to no experience with the R programming language or analyzing single-cell data and is primarily aimed to assist beginners.__ In the future, we will have further tutorials for intermediate and more advanced skill levels.

The prerequisites for this session are:

  1. R & R studio installed
  2. Monocle 3 installed

During this session, we will cover the following topics:

  1. An introduction to Monocle 3
  2. Loading, QC and initial filtering of data
  3. Pre-processing data, dimensionality reduction and making a basic UMAP
  4. Basic clustering and plotting genes of interest
  5. Finding top markers
  6. Gene ontology/gene set analysis There will also be some time to address specific questions.
